If you’ve been looking for somewhere to share your love of reading, the Burnaby Public Library has book discussion groups covering a range of literary offerings.

The Cameron branch (9523 Cameron St., in the Cameron Recreation Complex) hosts a monthly book discussion circle. The next one, coming up Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. in the Willow Room, centres around Joan Haggerty’s The Dancehall Years.

The Metrotown book discussion group (6100 Willingdon Ave.) will next meet on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m., looking at Anna Quindlen’s Miller’s Valley. In February (Feb. 28, 7 p.m.), the group will look at Michael Bloomberg and Carl Pope’s Climate of Hope.

The Book of the Month discussion circle at McGill (4595 Albert St.) also meets on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m., focusing on Jessica Shattuck’s The Women in the Castle.  The February meeting at McGill is on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., looking at Naomi Klein’s No is Not Enough: Resisting the new shock politics and winning the world we need.

Copies of all the books are available through the library, with registration. See www.bpl.bc.ca/events for all the details and to register for individual sessions. Note that participants are asked to read the book before each discussion session.
