Saxophonist Cory Weeds is bringing together a who’s who of Vancouver jazz in a concert at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.

Weeds is taking to the stage with his Little Big Band to celebrate their recording Explosion. The band – so named because it has only 11 musicians in the ensemble, rather than the typical big band number of 16 or 17 – is onstage at the Shadbolt Centre on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m.

The band includes saxophonists Campbell Ryga, Steve Kaldestad and Ben Henriques, trumpet players Brad Turner and Vince Mai, trombonists Rod Murray and Robin MacLulich, pianist Miles Black, bassist Paul Rushka and drummer Jesse Cahill, with special guest Jennifer Scott on vocals.

Tickets are $30, available through tickets.shadboltcentre.com or 604-205-3000.
