Do you like music, art and the outdoors?

Then this volunteer stint could be perfect for you. The Burnaby Arts Council is looking for community volunteers to lend a hand at the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival, coming to Deer Lake on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Volunteers will be responsible for running the arts council’s 50-50 draw, a fundraiser for the Burnaby Arts Council. They’ll need to help with set-up, take-down and operation of the 50-50 booth, walk around the festival selling 50-50 tickets and perform a variety of tasks during shifts.

Orientation sessions will be held before volunteer shifts on the day of the event.

The arts council is looking for volunteers to work in pairs, so sign up with a friend if you can. All volunteers get free passes to the festival – so you can enjoy a day of music by such artists as Feist, Lord Huron, Dan Mangan, The War & Treaty, William Prince and Southern Avenue.

Volunteers will be needed from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; you can sign up for an 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or a 3:30 to 8 p.m. slot.

See www.tinyurl.com/BACBluesVolunteers2019 for all the requirements and to sign up online.
