Word nerds of Burnaby, unite.

The Burnaby Writers’ Society is returning to Deer Lake Gallery with its first Spoken Ink night of the fall on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m.

The monthly reading series is presented by the writers’ group on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August). This month’s event features Warren Dean Fulton and Katie Stobbart.

Fulton has hosted various poetry events across Canada and in five U.S. states and has published a variety of poets through his micro press. He has also given workshops on publishing, hands-on workshops on chapbook production, and workshops for teens, recovering addicts and those struggling in the Downtown Eastside.

Stoddart, meanwhile, has had her poems appear in Louden Singletree and Raspberry magazine, among others. She’s the founder and executive director of the Red Press Society, a local arts organization in the Fraser Valley.

The gallery is at 6584 Deer Lake Ave. For more on Spoken Ink or the writers’ society, see www.burnabywritersnews.blogspot.com or email [email protected].
