Burnaby musicians, here’s a chance to share your sounds with a wide audience.
Music BC, in partnership with the Honda Celebration of Light, is calling for musicians to apply to play on the Park Stage at Second Beach during the annual Celebration of Light this summer.
On Wednesday, July 31, in celebration of it being Canada’s performance night, selected winning musicians will fill two performance slots on the stage – which gives local talent a chance to play in front of thousands of people in an all-ages, public venue.
“Music BC is thrilled to partner with events like the Honda Celebration of Light, to give local artists an audience of thousands at the largest event of the summer,” said Lindsay MacPherson, executive director of Music BC, in a press release.
The two selected artists will also receive an honorarium.
Applicants must be available to play on July 31, and the call for applications notes that “all genres, cultures and other measures of diversity” are encouraged to apply.
Applications can be submitted through http://www.musicbc.org/events/play-hcol-2019/. The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 26 at 11:45 p.m. Winners will be announced June 3.
