Deer Lake Gallery is hosting its next live music performance evening on Friday, Aug. 24. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the music begins at 7 p.m.

This month’s performers are percussionists Chris Blaber and Arthur Delahooke.

A write-up from the gallery notes that Blaber is a percussionist and composer dedicated to presenting collaborative, interdisciplinary, improvised and contemporary works. He works as a freelance percussionist with numerous groups, including orchestras, musical theatre companies, rock and jazz performers and more. Delahooke is a professional drummer who works in genres including pop, rock, jazz, Latin, world and avant-garde. He currently plays in four bands and teaches in the Lower Mainland.

You can hear their musical stylings at the gallery at 6584 Deer Lake Ave. Admission is pay what you can at the door. Call 604-298-7322 or see www.burnabyartscouncil.org for more details.
