Deer Lake Gallery returns with its monthly Live at the Gallery concert series on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m.

“Live at the Gallery brings music into the gallery setting, to connect fans of visual and musical arts. The event is an exciting mix of art and sound, from the sweet sounds of classical music to chilled-out beats of local folk bands,” says a write-up about the series. “Expect the unexpected.”

The Jan. 26 performance will feature music by Eddie Lam and Sillken.

Lam is a Vancouver-born music scene veteran who’s a two-time Whammy Award winner for best piano player (the Whammys honour the best in Vancouver's indie music scene). He’s most known as the front man for local all-Asian rock band Cry of Silence and one of the instrumentalists in the Vancouver-based cover band The Naturals. He also coordinates a live band karaoke experience, Rockaoke Live.

Sillken is a musical duo featuring Michele Schmidt and Ken Cade, who perform heartfelt original folk-pop-country fusion music that weaves storytelling, ambient electric violin and classical guitar into their songs.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. It’s free, but RSVP through www.eventbrite.ca (search for Live at the Gallery).
