Here’s your chance to hear from some winning local writers.

This month’s Spoken Ink reading night is set for Tuesday, March 19 at 8 p.m. at Deer Lake Gallery, 6584 Deer Lake Ave.

The featured readers will be the winners of the Burnaby Writers’ Society’s 2018 writing competition. The reading will feature poetry and prose on the theme The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Lessons from Mom and Dad – “heartwarming, wacky and downright weird lessons that have shaped you and endured the test of time,” as a press release says.

There will also be an open mic portion for anyone who wants to share their work.

Spoken Ink is the Burnaby Writers’ Society’s monthly reading series, presented on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August). For more information, visit www.burnabywritersnews.blogspot.com or contact bwscafe@gmail.com.
