Snow geese 'refused to leave' despite causing traffic issue

There is no call too small for Delta police – even if that means dealing with snow geese.

Snow geese, not the ones seen in this file photo, were causing traffic issues (and weren't listening to police!) in Tsawwassen Wednesday.

There is no call too small for Delta police – even if that means dealing with snow geese.

Snow geese have become quite a fixture lately in South Delta as they swoop over fields, popping up on many local Facebook pages, so it was only a matter of time before there was some sort of nexus to a traffic issue.

According to a Delta police Facebook post this morning, on Nov. 6 officers received a call about multiple vehicles parked illegally while watching geese in the 100-block of Boundary Bay Road - and also blocking the bicycle lane.

The officer who answered the call wrote this in his report: “Police attended and spoke with the geese to advise them that they are causing traffic issues along the road, however they refused to leave the area.”

Fortunately the vehicle occupants were more understanding.
