CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders will be without starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. when they face the Ottawa Redblacks on Thursday.
Calgary (5-2) placed Adams on the one-game injured list with a head injury, meaning P.J. Walker will start against Ottawa (1-6).
Adams was injured in the second half of Calgary's 23-21 loss to Montreal last week. He was hit by Alouettes' linebacker Tyrice Beverette following a seven-yard run.
He was able to walk off the field on his own, but didn't return. Montreal outscored Calgary 9-0 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Adams completed 15-of-25 passes for 193 yards and a TD and had just the one run.
Walker completed three-of-seven pass attempts for 20 yards
Receiver Damien Alford (hamstring) is also out, while receiver Jalen Philpot (hamstring) is questionable.
Calgary acquired Adams from the B.C. Lions following the 2024 campaign. He has thrown for 1,913 yards and nine TDs this season.
