Someone who bought a lotto ticket in the Metro Vancouver city of Surrey is walking around not realizing they're $5 million richer.

A Metro Vancouver resident beat the odds last night. Literally.

The odds of matching all six Lotto 6/49 numbers is 13,983,816 to one, but Santa came early for this ticket-holder who has won a whopping $5 million jackpot. The only problem? They haven't come forward to claim the prize yet.

The mystery winner purchased their ticket in Surrey and was the only person in Canada to match all the numbers so check your tickets to see if you won.

The numbers were 29, 34, 37, 38, 42, and 49.

All lottery winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize.

Once the winner comes forward, their name and the specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased will be announced.

So far in 2022, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $111 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49.
