The seven-day Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes mainly typical weather beginning on Friday, July 18, 2025, although a warmer trend may emerge next week.

The weather forecast should mostly cooperate for folks hoping to see a dazzling fireworks display along the Vancouver waterfront this weekend.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Matt Loney tells V.I.A. that clouds rolled into the region with a weak system early Friday, July 18, but skies cleared in the early afternoon. The station at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) measured 0.1 mm of precipitation, considered a trace amount.

"We had this weak system move through, and now there are clearing skies and late-day sun with temperatures getting a bit higher in the low 20s, although it is a bit humid," he explains.

Another weak system is expected to move into the region on Saturday ahead of the first night of the 2025 Celebration of Light. However, skies are expected to be mostly clear in the evening following a cloudy start to the day, Loney notes.

Sunday's forecast for Metro Vancouver includes clearing skies with a mix of sun and cloud, although temperatures should remain steady through the weekend, with highs around 21 C and lows of 14 C.

Heading into next week, Monday's forecast indicates a slightly warmer trend, with temperatures a couple of degrees. This pattern should continue through the week, although Thursday may see temperatures climb a few degrees up to 25 C on the coast.

"We're seeing fairly normal temperatures, with the odd weak disturbance. No real major shift," he notes, adding that the weather could be categorized as "fair."

Environment Canada's models observe trends 10 to 14 days out. So far, no anomalous heat or precipitation is on the radar.

July and August are expected to see slightly-above average temperatures through the season.
