A person is dead after a serious crash on Monday morning in Langley.

Police officers responded to 264th Street and 28th Avenue just after 7 a.m. for a serious vehicle incident involving a pedestrian.

"BC Emergency Health Services attended and provided emergency care for the pedestrian who has been transported to hospital where they succumbed to their injuries,” says Cpl. Craig van Herk with Langley RCMP.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

"Speed or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors,” says van Herk.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) is investigating the crash.

LMD-ICARS is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death between Pemberton and Boston Bar.

Officers have closed 264th Street (Highway 13) in both directions and are advising travellers to expect delays.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Langley RCMP.
