Update: Man wanted B.C.-wide back in custody

Mohammad Adada, 44, failed to appear in court and is was wanted on a B.C.-wide warrant. He is now back in custody.

Following a tip from the public, Mohammad Adada is back in custody.

VPD confirmed today (Nov.22) that Adada who was wanted B.C.-wide for threatening a Champlain Heights security guard with a knife was re-arrested and taken into custody in Port Moody on Sunday.

The tipster reportedly recognized the man from the picture released on Friday (Nov. 18).

Mohammad Adada, 44, failed to appear in court and is now wanted on a B.C.-wide warrant.

Adada is accused of threatening to stab a Champlain Heights security guard with a knife back in August.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, when a security guard asked a man to move along he was threatened with a knife. Adada was arrested after that incident and taken to jail, charged, and released on bail.

VPD is asking for the public’s help to locate him though they warn he is considered dangerous and a threat to public safety.

If spotted, do not approach and call 911 immediately with his whereabouts.

Adada has previous convictions for five different assaults since May 2021. V.I.A. has reached out to police for more information.
