Mark your calendars. The annual Community Bike Fair is fast approaching, and there's tons of free fun and prizes this year.

Organized by local mom Tammy Ozero, the annual fair focuses on bike safety and fun.

This year's event is on Friday, June 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Edmonds Community School. There will be a mountain biking trick demonstration at 6:30 and 8 p.m. There will be a bike decorating contest, a riding area for small children, and a station for minor repairs.

There's also a contest to win a free bike, and participants are encourage to donate helmets or bike parts, so the Burnaby Lougheed Lions Club can help kids in need. (Call 604-540-4424 to donate.)

The Edmonds school council is running the concession stand, so there will be food available, as well. The event takes place rain or shine. Kids are encouraged to bring their bikes, but they must have a helmet or they will not be allowed to ride.
