The annual Africa Ekassa Cultural Festival took place at Burnaby's Swangard Stadium on Aug. 10.
This year marked the fourth for the annual celebration. The festival featured approximately 10 musical performances, from traditional African drumming to contemporary hip hop and Afro beats, African dancing and cuisine, a play area for kids, a bouncy castle, and a soccer match.
The yearly festival is hosted by the Edo Friends of B.C. Association, a non-profit group that helps new immigrants in the Vancouver area. For more information, go to edofriends.ca/wordpress.
