It's that time of year again and we all know what that means, the Christmas light extravaganza is once again upon us!

We know you're on the hunt for the most outstanding displays in Burnaby so it's become something of a tradition for us to make it easier on you by presenting a list of the top must-see houses in Burnaby this holiday season. Now who doesn't love a nice light fixture on the roofs of our houses or displays in the front of our lawns, but there are those who go above and beyond to impress passersby. There are also some who take it to the next level not only to wow the community, but to help it as well by raising money with their eye-catching displays.

- 5951 Baffin Place. The Sherwood house is all done up again this year with a small tribute to he Grinch and his little dog Max. The houses lights twinkle from ever corner of the house and bring a new definition to the word "cheer."

- 4990 Belleville Ave. With the help of their candy canes in all different sizes, huge snowmen and twinkling snowflakes, the Dube family is collecting for Variety The Children's Charity.

- 6908 Bryant Court. This year the Khan family decided to raise money for the Kidney Foundation of Canada. You'll find frosty lights with a fountain where the reindeer graze and Santa and his helpers politely ask for your donation.

- 7720 Burgess St. Reindeer, reindeer everywhere. As you walk along the sidewalk, you'll find two pastures of your favorite holiday animal frolicking on the lawn of the Halliday home.

- 8222 Burnlake Dr. This family is collecting for the B.C. Children's Hospital, the DuPlessis family has outdone themselves this year. With beautiful new improvements to their already huge festive display, the house features snowmen galore and a magical large Christmas tree for everyone to enjoy. Enter the special viewing area and take photos with friends and family.

- 4466 Frances St. This display is uniquely made up of 95 per cent salvaged PVC pipe. The Tallaricos hope you enjoy their pretty multicolored arches lit up to wish you a Merry Christmas.

- 6728 Grant Place. Once again, the Jacoboni family is lighting up the corner of Sperling and Grant Place. The display features animated Christmas characters from Sesame Street and Star Wars as well as our favorite characters like Charlie Brown, Mickey, and Rudolph. You'll have to come and see for yourself who else they have hanging around. All collections are going to the Alzheimer's Society of B.C.

- 950 Kensington Ave. Burnaby's best Christmas lights are up again, and it's all thanks to Bortolo Rinaldo. Rinaldo has raised over $110,000 with his Christmas display, and you'll find out why from about a mile away. This is the one house all holiday fanatics should know about, its giant lit-up trees, stars, sleighs, and thousands of dazzling lights make this house the one to see every Christmas. All proceeds go to the Michael Cuccione Foundation for cancer research.

- 1225 Sperling Ave. Beautiful blues and greens outline the Milano family's house, new brilliant display of lights to check out this Christmas holiday for sure.
