Burnaby Art Gallery is giving local families plenty of chances to get their hands on art.

The next In the BAG family studio drop-in session is coming up on Sunday, June 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. Families can drop in at any time, with new programs starting on the half-hour and hour. Visitors have a chance to check out the current exhibitions in the gallery - David Ostrem's Why Won't You Be Art? and the Burnaby school district's Arts Alive 2018 - and then get into the studio to make their own art inspired by what they've seen. The June 17 theme is Cartoon Creatures.

There's also a family collage party on Friday, June 1 from 5 to 8 p.m., where families can make their own photo collages inspired by Ostrem's.
