There are only a few days left before Burnaby’s first-ever run/walk symposium being held at Fortius Sport and Health.

In partnership with FitFirst Footwear, Fortius Sport and Health held a media event on Monday to explain the details of the upcoming workshop – dubbed the first-ever “combined learning symposium and fun run event,” explained a media release.

Phil Moore of FitFirst Footwear, and founder of Run Burnaby Now, joined Fortius Sport and Health chief operating officer, Lynda Cannell, to go over what would be taking place on Saturday.

There were also two special guests in attendance, Olympian Dylan Wykes and top ranked long distance runner Rob Watson, who discussed their experience running professionally.

Run Burnaby Now is taking place on Saturday, March 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The daylong event includes workshops on subjects such as fueling for optimal health and performance, minimalist footwear study and cross training in the gym for runners and walkers. After the morning workshops, attendees will have the chance to test out shoes from FitFirst Footwear in a fun, 40-minute run around Burnaby Lake. Two more workshops will be held after the run and lunch.
