Artist Tom McKenna has generously donated two original watercolours to the Wildlife Rescue Association's first-ever online art auction.

Starfish - a vibrant portrait of the tidal life of Haida Gwaii, and On the Beach to Nowhere - a stormy beach scene, from his Wild Westcoast collection will be available to the highest bidder with all proceeds going directly to the association, which helps injured and orphaned wildlife.

McKenna, a national representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees in Burnaby, specializes in watercolours and pen and ink and he has a particular interest in wildlife.

"I see the plight of injured wildlife every day as I drive to work and the protection and

rehabilitation of wildlife is an important cause" says McKenna. "Animals cannot advocate for themselves and we need organizations like the Wildlife Rescue Association to act on their behalf."

Members of the public can go online at www.wildliferescue.ca to view the framed

paintings or see them hanging in the association office at 5216 Glencarin

Dr. during normal office hours.
