Confederation Seniors' Centre is celebrating Seniors' Week with a special strawberry tea on Sunday, June 24, from 1: 30 to 3 p.m.
Organizers are promising fabulous entertainment, delicious desserts and an atmosphere that is second to none.
The centre's planning committee has been designing centrepieces, planning menus, scheduling volunteers, folding napkins and wrapping gifts for the raffle.
There will freshly baked strawberry shortcake, and Nostalgic Mood, a threepiece band and singer, will perform for the audience.
Admission is $8 for guests or $7 for members with a current Burnaby seniors' membership card. Book your ticket by calling 604-294-1936. The centre is at 4585 Albert St.
KINA SPIRIT DAY ON SOON
The Kingsway Imperial Neighbourhood Association is hosting KINA Spirit Day this Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5665 Kingsway.
The fun includes a show-and-shine car show, a bouncy castle, face painting, a bike parade with a prize for the best decorated bike, bike engraving by Burnaby RCMP auxiliary members, and much more.
A number of the activities are to support the group's goal of making the neighbourhood an environmentally friendly, walkable community.
