The method is still relatively unknown in Canada, but that's likely to change.
Its profile has been boosted by simple word-of-mouth as those already practising it share their experiences with friends and family.
But a little Hollywood glamour doesn't hurt either: A-list celebrities have been reported to have used the method to train for physically intensive stunt filming.
