The South Burnaby Garden Club held its annual fall fair this past weekend. Nearly 200 people showed up over the two-day event at the Bonsor Recreation Complex.
"I would say the comments that I heard were
very positive, and there was a lot of interest in the dahlias," said Judy Vander, club director. "I think it went pretty well."
The fair showcases some of the best specimens Burnaby gardeners have grown over the summer. There were also awards for the most creative garden hats, birdhouses and crafts made of Mason jars.
The South Burnaby Garden Club, which is more than 100 years old, meets the first Tuesday every month at Bonsor Recreation Complex.  The club hosts talks on gardening and hosts an annual plant sale.
