What’s happening?
Shape Properties, owner of Lougheed Town Centre and the future City of Lougheed development, are hosting a block party to celebrate the end of summer.
What have they got planned?
Organizers have a whole lot in store for this block party, including food trucks, entertainment, craft beer, family activities and special guests.
Beer? Food?
Heck yes! There are a number of food trucks signed up to take part, including Vij’s, Flying Fish n Chipper, Wings and Japadog (and there’s still more to come, according to organizers). As for beer, there will be a “Brewers’ Row” pop-up at the block party featuring Parkside Brewery, Yellow Dog Brewing, Twin Sails Brewing and Moody Ales.
You said there’d be entertainment?
You bet. Side One will be playing throughout the party so expect to hear everything from Sinatra to Macklemore. This isn’t “your average event band,” according to the band’s website, so be ready to have some fun.
What time is this all going down?
The block party is on from noon to 4 p.m. outside Lougheed mall, Austin Avenue and North Road. Oh, and there’s no fee to attend the block party. It’s all free.
Anything else I should know?
Take transit. Lougheed Town Centre is a transit hub with the Expo SkyTrain line stopping there as well as a number of bus routes, and on weekends everyone pays a flat rate of $3.90 (or $3.85 if you have a Compass card). Children under five ride free. See www.translink.ca.
