Teen philosophers
SFU and the Burnaby Public Library are teaming up to offer a new series of Philosophers Cafes exclusively for teens.
The sessions take place on the last Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Metrotown library branch, at 6100 Willingdon Ave. The Feb. 25 session is on breaking promises, while the April 28 talk is on jealousy. March 31 event is on loyalty versus honesty, and the May 26 discussion is on privacy.
Michael Picard, a philosophy instructor at SFU and Douglas College, is leading all three events.
No more gardening column
After years of offering gardening tips and advice, Burnaby NOW columnist Anne Marrison is calling it quits.
Marrison’s last gardening column will likely run at the end of this month.
