What happens when you give seven art groups just seven days to come up with an entire show?
Who knows? But the organizers are willing to bet it's going to be an incredible event, free for the public, on Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
For one week, starting Sept. 23, artist groups are being given free reign to create their unique versions of the same theme, through dance, theatre and music.
There are no limits except the maximum 14 minute performance time.
To set their imaginations in motion, each group was given one line from an e.e. cummings poem and an "inspiration package," which they will somehow work into their performances.
Participating artists include The 605 Collective, the Body Narratives Collective, Amber Funk Barton, Bellaluna's Susan Bertoia, Neworld Theatre, Rough House Productions, Kent McAlister and Beth Southwell.
"As a writer/artist/musician, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this whirlwind of creation," said Beth Southwell. "It's such a cool challenge and it's exciting to work alongside other artists in the same storm of creativity."
