Event at Burnaby's Central Park aimed at raising awareness of drunk driving

The Metro Vancouver chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is hosting their walk event this Saturday at Burnaby's Central Park.

The event is intended to raise awareness and to honour those who have been killed or injured by impaired driving.

Registration begins at 9: 30 a.m. and runs till 10 a.m., with a candlelight vigil starting at 10: 30 a.m.

The event will include a victim tribute/ survivor area, as well as entertainment, food and prizes.

Local MLA Kathy Corrigan and RCMP Insp. I.E. Emanuals will be on hand to take part in the event as well.

Those who can't attend are welcome to take part as a "virtual walker" by walking at home or making a donation online.
