The annual UTSAB - A Cultural Society of Bengal spring festival took place last month, on May 19, with more than 200 people in attendance, according to Leena Roy, general secretary for UTSAB - A Cultural Heritage of Bengal. "We had a throng of people, some (from) different walks of life, some invited guests, and the total number of attendees was approximately 200-plus attending the evening's cultural program to celebrate Bengali New Year's festivities, or spring festival," Roy wrote in an email to the NOW. "Delicious refreshments and dinner (were) served to all attendees. It was a one of our most successful events." The guest of honour for the evening was Burnaby-Douglas MP Kennedy Stewart.
