The recent period of sun is coming to an end this weekend, and the weather forecast calls for rain for Saturday and Sunday. But fear not, we've compiled a list of things to do indoors and outdoors.
Check out our listings for Saturday, June 14 and Sunday June 15.
1 Take dad to the CBC.ca Music Festival at Deer Lake Park on Saturday. Curator Beth Carter will host a talk with Nunoda at the Nikkei Centre on Saturday, at 2 p.m. The opening reception is from 3 to 5 p.m. The centre is at 6688 Southoaks Cres.
3 Become a citizen scientist on Saturday with Evergreen B.C.'s Uncover Your Creeks Program, from 10 a.m. to noon at Jim Lorimer Park, near the Gilmore SkyTrain station. Gloves, tools and refreshments are provided, and participants can learn the basics of streamkeeping: ecology, removing invasive plants, and monitoring water quality in Chub Creek. The sessions take place on the second Saturday of every month until the end of August. For more information, go to uncoveryourcreeks.ca.
