Burnaby residents have three options to celebrate Canada Day this year.

54-40 is headlining the free Canada Day concert at Swangard Stadium on Wednesday, July 1. Gates open at 5 p.m., the show starts at 6:30 p.m., and there will be fireworks at dusk. Jon and Roy, a folk-rock group, and Mostly Marley, a reggae troupe, are also playing. Only the first 4,200 people will be admitted, so be prepared to lineup early if you want a decent shot at getting in. Based on positive feedback from last year’s concert, the city has decided to make the free Canada Day show an annual affair.

There will also be a Canada Day celebration in Edmonds Park on July 1, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This family friendly event features cake, multicultural entertainment, bingo, and children’s performer Charlotte Diamond.

Last but not least, the Burnaby Village Museum is hosting its annual Canada Day celebration on July 1, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be heritage games, photo stops, a parade and cake or cupcakes. Admission is free.
