Burnaby's Tian Jin temple on Smith Street hosted its annual festival on Sunday.

The annual Tian-Jin festival is on this weekend, and the focus is on family and fun. The two-day celebration runs Saturday, May 7 to Sunday, May 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We try to share the Chinese culture in a lighter and fun atmosphere,” said Jeffrey Yu, one of the event organizers. “We really want to promote the value of family and spending quality time with family members.”

The Burnaby-based Tian-Jin Temple is hosting the festival, and there will be food, games and entertainment, including a traditional puppet show and a drumming demonstration. There will also be a martial arts performance and craft booths for kids. The food vendors accept cash only, so make sure to stop at an ATM before you go.

The festival is at 3426 Smith Ave. Info: www.tianjintemple.org or call 604-568-9880.
