Japacamp 2012 at the Nikkei Centre in Burnaby, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre, 6688 Southoaks Cres. Japacamp is a fun-filled, enriching week of authentic experiences in Japanese culture and Japanese Canadian heritage. Japacamp is for nine- to twelve-year-olds (born 1999 to 2002) of all backgrounds. The program is limited to twelve children under the supervision of two staff and various numbers of volunteers. Cost: $190 + HST = $212.80. Registration on a first-come-first-served basis. Edmonds Car Show and Street Festival, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entertainment includes Burnaby's favorite classic rock band, Rainshadow. For car lovers, a show 'n shine is also taking place. Edmonds Street will be shut down between Kingsway and Canada Way and there will be 80+ cars and vehicles, street vendors and more.
