Valentine's Day is upon us, and there's plenty to do this weekend on our weekly Top 5 list. This is a Burnaby Grade 2 student learning about the day of love.

Love is in the air this weekend, and hopefully there will also be some admiration for sunny, warm weather. If not, there are plenty of things to do with loved ones this weekend. We’re continuing with our popular feature – our staff’s Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. Here’s our Top 5 list for Feb. 14 to 16.

1. Get rocking this Valentine’s Day at the King of Hearts Valentine’s Dance with Ultimate Elvis. One Night Productions is hosting the event at the Best Western Plus – King’s Inn Conference Centre, 5411 Kingsway. Tickets are $25, and it starts at 8 p.m. What makes this Elvis ultimate? He’s a four-time international Elvis champion, Brian Elvis Simpson. There will be dozens of Elvis hits, prizes, draws, dazzling costumes and wicked fast moves. There will be free cake for everyone. 2. Get entertainedat the Hurt So Good rollicking musical cabaret celebrating the vagaries of love on Valentine’s Day (Friday), at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, 6450 Deer Lake Ave. Six stellar singer- songwriters and performers are challenged to create six new performances that explore the lows and highs of love in all its variations. It’s the perfect Valentine’s date. The event starts at 8 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. For more information, call 604-205-3000.

3. Get watchingthe Sochi Winter Olympics at Brentwood Town Centre at the game lounge, in the mall’s centre court. It’s not hard to miss everyone collecting around several game screens cheering Canadians going for gold. For more information on the Olympic schedule, visit www.sochi2014.com/en/sched
ule-and-results. The games go on until Feb. 23. There’s an Olympic lounge at Lougheed Town Centre’s centre court, as well.

4. Get huntingat the Annual Treasure Hunt flea market and Japanese book sale, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. The popular community event is held every year at the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre, 6688 Southoaks Cres., as a way for community members to find high-quality second-hand items, often including unique and rare Japanese items, at bargain prices. Treasure Hunt Market will also include a Japanese book sale. There will be live entertainment, delicious Japanese foods and snacks, a kids’ fun zone and more. Admission is free.

5. Get culturedat the Burnaby Art Gallery, 6344 Deer Lake Ave. Check out the Recent Acquisitions of First Nations and Inuit Prints. All of the pieces were created during the 1970s to early 1980s period, with many included in the Northwest Coast Indian Artist Guild series of 1977 and 1978. Two notable Inuit works of Canadian Heritage were added to the collection last year. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, then noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
