Join the Greighlan Crossing and White Spot Pipe Band for its 13th annual Robbie Burns dinner on Jan. 21 at Bonsor Hall, 6550 Bonsor Ave. It includes a full roast beef buffet dinner, with traditional haggis, neeps and tatties (mashed potatoes). A nine-week volleyball clinic at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre starts on Jan. 22, and there’s still time to sign up. No experience is necessary. Coaches will assess participants on the first day to ensure they’re in the correct training group. Celebrate National Skating Day on Jan. 21 by trying speed skating for free. The two-hour session, between 3 and 5 p.m., will introduce you to the sport, and includes skate rentals and one hour of on-ice instruction with coaches and volunteers from the Burnaby Speed Skating Club.
