Don’t miss Science Rendezvous at SFU this Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring the university’s new Trottier Observatory. There will be family-friendly astronomy and science activities, crafts, shows and talks on the Apollo missions and the Northern Lights. Admission is free. The event takes place in the Academic Quadrangle in the south and east concourse, on the 3000 level. There’s free parking in lot B.

Join the Stoney Creek Environment Committee on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Great Salmon Send-Off. Volunteers will release thousands of tiny salmon into Stoney Creek, one of Burnaby’s most prolific salmon bearing streams. There will be family activities and entertainment.
