Metro Vancouver is holding a Winter Waterfowl session at the park on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon, during which time you'll find out what makes this habitat important to wintering and migrating birds.

3 Get out and check out the Nordic art and photography exhibit and sale, which features more than 100 works by more than 30 artists and photographers of Nordic heritage or theme. The exhibit and sale takes place on Saturday, Feb. 25 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Sunday, Feb. 26 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the Scandinavian Community Centre, 6540 Thomas St.
4 Get out for the final night of La Bohème, a presentation by the Burnaby Lyric Opera at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. The musical masterpiece is a timeless tale of love, loss, deception and heartbreak. 5 Get out and hear from some fine young musicians when the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra takes to the stage at Michael J. Fox Theatre on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 7: 30 p.m.
The concert features concerto works by Elgar, Sibelius, Vaughn Willams and Borne, as well as symphonic works by Wagner: Meistersinger Overture and Mussorgsky: Night on Bald Mountain. Admission is by donation.
