Workshop offers advice on family-friendly food

It's the nightly battle for many parents: cook a meal that the kids will eat, that doesn't cost too much and that's healthy for the whole family.

It's the nightly battle for many parents: cook a meal that the kids will eat, that doesn't cost too much and that's healthy for the whole family.

Later this month, a free workshop at Burnaby's Tommy Douglas library branch will be teaching parents how to do just that.

Hosted by the Burnaby Public Library and Burnaby Food First, a local organization that advocates for healthy, environment-friendly and accessible food systems, the workshop will cover how to plan and cook meals.

The workshop is free, but preregistration is required by calling 604-297-4821 or stopping in at the Tommy Douglas Library, 7311 Kingsway.

Child-minding spots are available, but limited, and are provided by South Burnaby Neighbourhood House. The workshop runs on March 27 from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m.
