Smooth blues from musical legends. Tasty barbecue. Great weather.
What more could a musical foodie want?
That’s what is being combined for an intimate warm-up to the Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival.
The Blues + Roots Dinner Series features performances from veteran bluesmen Jim Byrnes and Steve Kozak on two separate nights in the lead-up to the festival at Deer Lake Park on Aug. 10.
Kozak has become one of Canada’s premier blues acts and is known as the go-to guy in Vancouver for the west coast blues sound. And legendary bluesman Jim Byrnes has built a reputation that stretches far beyond his Vancouver home, winning several Juno awards as well as playing starring roles on TV and in film.
