Interested in handbell ringing? A new group is starting up in Burnaby.

A Burnaby handbell ensemble is calling for new members.

Adults in Burnaby are invited to take part in a handbell group that meets on Monday evenings at Inman Elementary School.

You need to be able to read music, but previous experience with handbell ringing isn't necessary.

The group is directed by former Burnaby music teacher Virginia Barteluk. It has members from age 18 upwards to retirees, and people of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

The group meets Monday evenings, starting Sept. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Inman Elementary School, 3963 Brandon St. Anyone who's interested in taking part can email Resilience Ringers for more information.
