Interested in the art of photography? You may want to stop by the Burnaby Arts Council's Deer Lake Gallery for its current exhibition, Perspective.

The exhibition is underway at the gallery until Sunday, Dec. 4.

It features the work of photographers Norm Coridor, Boris Aeven and Sheryl R. Smith.

Coridor finds his inspiration in the interplay of colour, water and light. "I challenge myself to discover what combinations of the three create the most dramatic images," he says in an artist's statement.

Aeven, meanwhile, says he has no unifying theme to his work except to say there is an element of Burnaby in every photo. He doesn't consider himself a "statement" artist but rather a creator of whimsical "pretty pictures."

For Smith, her love of photography began in childhood and has continued through her life, with a passion for photographing people and animals, as well as urban and landscape settings.

Deer Lake Gallery is at 6584 Deer Lake Ave., and it's open Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. See www.burnaby artscouncil.org or call 604298-7322 for more details.
