It’s described as a “pitch perfect blend of music, comedy and unforgettable characters” – and you can get in on the fun right here in Burnaby.
Chase Padgett is bringing his 6 Guitars show to the stage at the Shadbolt Centre’s Studio Theatre on Oct. 23 and 24.
A press release notes that, over the course of the show, Padgett becomes six different guitar players, each with their own distinct voice, views and musical style.
Each character plays their music – blues, jazz, rock, classical, folk and country – and shares their history with music, and, along the way, celebrates or skewers the other genres. As one character puts it: “I don’t need fancy chords for country. Just play G. What’s wrong with G? If your chord has a number in it, you’re a jerk.”
Since the show premiered in 2010, it has earned numerous awards and played to appreciative audiences all over North America, along with winning Pick of the Fringe awards in both Edmonton and Vancouver.
Shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $27 to $35 and are available through tickets.shadboltcentre.com or by calling 604-205-3000.
