A Burnaby artist’s fantasy landscapes are on display at Burnaby Neighbourhood House’s North House this month.
Landscapes of My Heart, by Ursula Sakemink-Roos, is on display at North House from Friday, Feb. 2 to Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Sakemink-Roos claims Mother Nature as her muse. She takes photographs on her travels, which then become the inspiration she uses to paint.
“Ursula paints from her intuition and in doing so achieves a measure of calm and peace,” says a write-up about the show.
Sakemink-Roos, whose work has been shown in Canada, the U.S.A., Germany, Spain, Singapore and the Channel Islands, also paints abstracts in acrylic.
You can meet her at an open house and reception on Friday, Feb. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m.
North House is at 4908 Hastings St. For more information, call 604-294-5444 or email [email protected].
