After a successful free eight-week run in April, non-profit Burnaby dance studio Dance Imagination opens its doors for kids eager to groove this month.

The studio was hoping to celebrate its 30th anniversary in a grand fashion, until COVID-19 rained on its parade. With classes moving online and outside the studio, Chris LePage, the co-artistic director, is thrilled to bring back the kids to the studio.

Children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 18 can register for modern dance classes at different levels that run from this month to June 2023.

The dance studio has produced noteworthy performers over the years who have gone on to perform on different stages around the world. Studio organizers are hoping to help foster another generation of dancers after the two-year pandemic hiatus.

Unlike many dance associations that groom their young students for competitions, Creative Dance Association's primary goal is performance-oriented and stays away from "competitive" spirit.

The full-year program begins on Sept. 26, and will end in a special June 2023 showcase at the Shadbolt centre.

The studio is encouraging children and teens to put their best dancing foot forward as it opens its doors to dancers of all levels of experience, through registration on its website
