A Burnaby dancer will be front and centre at the Scotiabank Dance Centre on Saturday night (Sept. 14).
The centre is holding its 12th annual open house, with free events running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an evening performance at 8 p.m.
The evening performance features LOVE.BE.BEST.FREE, the first full-evening tap creation by Burnaby's Danny Nielsen.
Nielsen is an award-winning dancer who has become known as one of Canada's brightest young tap talents and a rising star on the international scene. He's recognized for his technical prowess, musical flair and innovative approach to tap.
LOVE.BE.BEST.FREE follows a man's quest for love and his journey of personal discovery.
It features an all-male cast including Ryan Foley, Shay Kuebler, Johnathan Morin and Nielsen himself, with live music by singer-songwriter Andrea Superstein and pianist Sharon Minemoto.

The evening performance closes a day that includes discussions, demonstrations, classes and workshops covering a wide variety of dance forms and dance-related topics.
