Art lovers still have a bit more time to catch the Burnaby Art Gallery’s off-site exhibitions at two library branches.
The McGill branch of Burnaby Public Library (4595 Albert St.) is currently hosting Surface Tension: Recent Work by Gary Sim. It’s on until Monday, Jan. 29. Sim is an architect by training, and his art includes drawing, print making, photography and more.
At the Bob Prittie Metrotown library branch (6100 Willingdon Ave.), visitors can enjoy Big Canadian Stuff, celebrating the work of the Island Illustrators Society. The posters on exhibit were designed to celebrate Canada’s 2017 sesquicentennial, visiting Canadian landmarks and icons in a lighthearted fashion – all modelled on art deco and mid-century travel posters. It’s on until Sunday, Jan. 28.
Check out www.burnabyartgallery.ca for more on the exhibits, or stop in at any time during library hours to check them out.
