Burnaby Mountain Secondary is following the yellow brick road to its biggest musical production yet.

The high school is presenting The Wizard of Oz, onstage at the Michael J. Fox Theatre March 8, 9 and 10.

Director Felicity Rudolph is back at the helm for a musical extravaganza featuring the talents of 40 performers and another 30 students serving as crew and in other volunteer roles.

Imogen O’Neal stars as Dorothy, the young girl from Kansas who is carried by a tornado to the land of Oz. There, she finds three stalwart companions – the scarecrow in search of a brain, the tin man in search of a heart, and the cowardly lion looking for courage – as she journeys to the Emerald City to find her way home.

Andy Nie appears as Lion, Hemanshu Dave as Scarecrow and Ethan Radano as Tin Man.

The production also stars Abigail Barclay as the Wicked Witch and Joseph Tooley as the Great Oz, with Melissa Sciaretta as Glinda.

Chloe Rowat is the vocal director, and Deanna Worobets is the choreographer.

Tickets are $15 regular, or $10 for students, and the show is open to all ages.

The Wizard of Oz is onstage at the Michael J. Fox Theatre, 7373 MacPherson Ave., from Wednesday, March 8 to Friday, March 10, at 7 p.m. nightly.
