The North House is hosting an exhibition by Lucyna Eschner throughout June. An open house and meet-the-artist event is on Friday, June 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A press release notes Eschner has enjoyed drawing since her childhood in Poland, and, after her immigration to Canada, her Grade 7 teacher helped her discover many new forms of art with materials such as paint and wax crayons, which she had never had access to in Poland.

After finishing school, she started taking evening painting classes to learn more about oil, watercolour and acrylic, and she joined both the Burnaby Artist Guild and Richard Major Art Group.

“With her growing involvement in numerous demos, the possibilities for her art and the breadth of her techniques grew as well,” the release says.

Eschner draws inspiration for her work from nature.

You can stop in to Burnaby Neighbourhood House North House at 4908 Hastings St. to check out her work. All proceeds from sales will be donated to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
