The City of Burnaby is looking for artists to showcase at outdoor events like Canada Day this summer.

Calling all visual artists, musicians and performers, your next gig might be with the City of Burnaby for some outdoor live programming this summer.

As part of the city’s series of arts-based initiatives planned for this summer, Burnaby is looking for talent to perform at events like Canada Day, Sounds Like Summer pop-up music concerts, neighbourhood-based live programming, and Burnaby Pride, as provincial health guidelines allow.

In a recent release, the city states that artists who are based in Burnaby and are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities are encouraged to apply. Artists should include the following information in their email application:

  • If you are a Burnaby resident
  • If you identify as a member of the BIPOC and/or LGBTQ community
  • Information about your performance/Area of Expertise and provide a link to a sample of your content. (i.e. a link to your web page or YouTube video)
  • The length(s) of performance options (20-60 minutes; 1-1.5 hours)

If you’re interested in applying you should send an email to celebrate@burnaby.ca with the subject line “Call for Artists 2021.”

The deadline to apply is Friday, May 7, 2021.
