Some Burnaby talents are in the running for the 2018 Jessie Richardson Awards.
Nominees for the awards, which recognize the best in Vancouver theatre, were announced at a party on Sunday, May 27 at the BMO Theatre Centre in Vancouver.
Amanda Testini, who grew up in Burnaby, is up for Outstanding Performance in the Theatre for Young Audiences category for her work in Carousel Theatre’s The Velveteen Rabbit.
Also up for a performance award, for Outstanding Performance by an Actor – Large Theatre, is local performer Oliver Castillo. He’s up for his work in Arts Club Theatre Company’s Hand to God, which earned him critical acclaim when it hit the stage last spring.
