Burnaby fifteen-year-old Yiling Wang has won a national design contest and will be entered into the world finals for a chance to win a US$15,000 prize.

The contest challenges kids and youth across Canada and the world to design a “dream car” that can make the world a better place.

Wang’s design, titled The Toypillda, is one of the three finalists in the 11-to-15 age category.

The design imagines a pill-shaped vehicle which allows doctors to travel through their patients’ bodies when consumed.

Wang’s art depicts doctors’ car-pods, armed with mechanical hand clamps and scissors, travelling through a ribcage, repairing the body and warding off bacteria from the inside.

As one of five Canadian finalists, Wang will receive a $250 gift card.

The Toyota Dream Car Art contest was first held in 2004.
